Bug#842414: linux-image-4.7.0-1-686-pae fails to boot, stops right after GRUB

2016-10-28 Thread Vladimir Kudrya
Package: src:linux
Version: 4.7.8-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer, after recent kernel upgrade my old laptop fails to boot. All
visible activity is stopped
right after GRUB, no logs being written.

I've found similar reports (for newer kernel) with a possible lead to a fix:
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/51506
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/linux/kernel/2551992
