it works if i start gdm and then i choose "gnome in wayland" session
today gdm3 starts but black screen for gnome-shell
i can start gnome-shell after bash user login and then
$ dbus-run-session -- gnome-shell --display-server --wayland

In virtualbox (at least, i didn't try on other pc) after last update, i think,
of mesa gdm3 display nothing, only a black screen
same thing if i "manually" start gnome-shell from command line with start
mate desktop works
