The root cause is that /etc/X11/sawfish/site-init.d/00debian.jl is
attempting to load using
(require 'gnome)
and /usr/share/sawfish/lisp/gnome.jl does not exist. Instead
/usr/share/sawfish/lisp/gnome-int.jl
exists, a symlink pointing to
sawfish/wm/integration/gnome.jl

I'm glad to see sawfish is in Debian again!
About this annoying message, here's a workaround for the sawfish user:
1. cd ~/.sawfish/lisp (create directory first, if necessary)
2. ln -s /usr/share/sawfish/lisp/sawfish/wm/integration/gnome.jlc
The mantainer should create a similar symlink
Yes, it is annoying. I will talk with the upstream about it, to find a
solution and a workaround.
