Bug#856657: gnome-software: Sometimes claims repo is not active
I just ran into the same issue as you did, Gnome-software would tell me that debian-stable-main wasn't active and it wouldn't enable it. So I checked my sources.list to see if everything was ok, and then I went back to gnome-software, clicked on the global menu bar on the top, sources, and then found out that for some reason, gnome software didn't have the repos main, contrib, non-free enabled in that configuration window. I checked everything important in the other tabs as well, let gnome software update itself, and then I was able to install software again. signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part

This bug is happening to me too on Stretch. The message reads debian-stable-main instead of debian-testing-main. There's a post on the Debian forums about this too. http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=30=135196

This bug is affecting me too. Other example of non-installable: Dconf Editor
Bug#856657: gnome-software: Sometimes claims repo is not active
Package: gnome-software Version: 3.22.5-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, For some apps, when I try to install it (on Stretch), I get a dialog claiming that the repo "debian-testing-main" needs to be activated. Clicking "Activate and install" brings up a password prompt, but then I get a dialog showing an error message (from apt I guess) saying: "E: Could not find the repository" But some apps install fine. One thing I noticed, the ones failing seems to indicate "Download size" in the UI, whereas the working one don't.
