Package: lua-event
Version: 0.4.3-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

the lua-event version packaged in Debian (0.4.3) contains a bug where
timers with timeout=0 are never called, leaking memory and causing
software malfunction.

This causes problems with the prosody XMPP server, if used in libevent
mode: https://prosody.im/issues/460

This bug has been fixed in lua-event 0.4.4, specifically with this commit:

https://github.com/harningt/luaevent/commit/e9efea74d2eb8f3b1cb7ee2d3d0c83a88524ac2e

Please either package 0.4.4 or at least make a new minor update release
containing
the above specific commit.

Kind regards,

Georg
