My guess is, that it is some other component reacting on that D-Bus signal which triggers that problem. Which desktop environment are you using? If you use a minimal desktop environment / window manager and you run systemctl suspend does the problem happen as well? What if you run systemctl suspend when you are logged in on the console? I run dist-upgrade regularly so I expect a number of packages upgrade recently. Unfortunately can't correlate as I was not noting down packages being updated. Found what seem to be related in #892321 mailto:892...@bugs.debian.org but can't tell if both cases are the same.
