Furthermore, /etc/init.d/timidity is a conffile: since the binary is not
contained in the timidity-daemon package, a simple remove is not enough:
the package must be _purged_ to solve the issue.
My 2 cents.
The bug was closed but it is not fixed, as explained in last comments.
The fix is not to be expected from a new version of timidity as it
rather is a packaging bug.
