Wow I didn't even know about that. Glad you found a workaround.

"Screen" in that dialog refers to the X screen, meaning that particular monitor
regardless of which virtual desktop is selected. I misunderstood your previous
message and told you how to set different desktops on different monitors.

But "This Desktop" should do the trick in that dialog.

No problem, hope this helps.

Aah, well, now it woks, way there was long and not quite obvious.

Using the `Settings Panel' not on the first (left) item `Wallpaper' but the
third one `Screen', there the first (top) item `Virtual Desktops', up comes a
new menu displaying the `Virtual Desktop Settings' in _pictures_, there I can
click on each VD in turn and up comes a new menu `Desk Settings', there click
`X Set'--and off we go to where I want. Excellent.

But if I use the `Settings Panel', there the first (left) item `Look', there
the first (top) item `Wallpaper', up comes new menu `Wallpaper Settings', there
choose the Picture by whichever possible way, click `> Advanced', there select
`This screen', then `Apply' or `OK'--all my (ahem) `Virtual Desktops' get the
same tiled background.

Thanks for your time, can close this bug unless somebody wants to do some
information presentation regarding the different terms `Virtual Desktop',
`Screen' and their respective addressing via the Settings Panel of e17.

Hmmm, I just tested with enlightenment 0.22.3-2 and this works for me:

- Import two images as tiled wallpaper
- Click Advanced in the Wallpaper Settings dialog
- Select the first wallpaper
- Select the "This Screen" option
- Click Apply
- Move the window to the other screen
- Select the second wallpaper
- Click Apply

Thanks very much appreciate your time, tiling bg images works when I follow
your advice, but all my screens get the same background, no matter if I check
"only this desktop" or "only this screen".

I like to have my 0-0 and 1-0 with All-Good-People and my 0-1 and 1-1 with
Enigmas_Oven. Just a habit.

You set this when the picture is imported.

Open Settings -> Wallpaper and click "Picture...". Choose your image
file and Enlightenment will open a dialog that lets you control setup
the image, including tiling.

Package: enlightenment
Version: 0.22.3-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I like to have my custom images tiled as background. e17 as of 0.17.6-1.1+b1
could do it, apparently 0.22.3-2 cannot. Or I couldn't find it in Settings.
