Assuming you still have the hardware, is this issue still reproducible
with a recent kernel? If yes, it might be worth bringing to upstream
and keeping this bug into the loop. if not (or the hardware is not
available anymore) lets close this bug.

 - linux-image-4.16.0-2-armmp_4.16.16-2_armhf.deb
 - linux-image-4.18.0-rc5-armmp_4.18~rc5-1~exp1_armhf.deb

So maybe this should be addresses directly to linux.
