Might be caused by a search plugin which doesn't play well with the
installed Python version.
There's an open upstream issue about it (
https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/13122). A workaround is
also reported there.
The qbittorrent version currently in sid (4.4.1) seems not broken
This is the python3 package I have installed in my system (if it's useful):
$ dpkg -l python3 | grep ^ii
ii python33.6.7-1 amd64interactive high-level
object-oriented language
(default python3 version)
Then I installed also qbittorrent-dbg and ran qbittorrent under gdb,

available anymore (it used to have a bunch of them)
