Package: geoip-bin
Version: 1.6.9-4
Severity: important

The geoiplookup[6] commands are obsolete. They try to use the Maxmind .dat files which have been discontinued for almost a year now, and cannot be downloaded anymore.

Ideally, the package would be updated so that the commands work as before, but use the current GeoIP2 .mmdb databases.

Alternatively, the package description and man pages should make it clear that this package is obsolete and will not work as expected anymore.

(I guess the same remarks also apply to the package geoip-database).
