Package: console-setup Version: 1.188 Severity: wishlist File: /usr/share/man/man1/setupcon.1.gz
The setupcon man page DESCRIPTION section could helpfully have a few words about its caching. Maybe like, if it's actually true, and perhaps there's more or better to say, Keymaps, fonts, etc, for a configuration can be cached in /etc/console-setup. The default configuration has this so ready at boot time. The "--save" options can do the same for variants, for say faster switching. Cached data is regenerated when a configuration file is newer than the cache. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 4.4.0-1-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_AU.iso88591, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.iso88591 (charmap=ISO-8859-1), LANGUAGE=en_AU:en_GB:en (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) Versions of packages console-setup depends on: ii console-setup-linux 1.188 ii debconf 1.5.69 ii keyboard-configuration 1.188 ii xkb-data 2.23.1-1
