I've tagged the shared git repo for both knot-dns and for knot-resolver
source package stretch-backports releases.

I've also published the relevant packages to
https://people.debian.org/~dkg/knot-stretch-backports/ so that people
can get access to them if they want them before stretch-backports is
capable of taking them.

In order to try to help the transition along, i'm reducing the severity
of this bug report as well. If there's a serious objection to this
severity reduction, please feel free to correct it back again, and
explain what you think the right thing to do is.

happy hacking,

Bug#920695: knot-resolver: uninstallable and FTBFS in stretch-backports

2019-02-28 Thread Daniel Kahn Gillmor
Control: 920695 fixed 3.2.1-1

I'm able to rebuild knot-resolver just fine on stretch, when i build
3.2.1-1 against a backported knot 2.7.6-2. I'll be uploading those to
stretch-backports shortly, but they can't go in until they've reached
testing.

But knot won't go into testing untlik knot-resolver migrates, due to
autopkgtests (see #922172), and knot-resolver itself won't migrate until
this bug report is non-RC. heh, a tangled mess.

So i'm marking #920695 as fixed in 3.2.1-1 with the hope of getting all
of these migrations to move forward.

2019-01-28 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Source: knot-resolver
Version: 2.3.0-3~bpo9+1
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)
User: debian...@lists.debian.org

  Control: affects -1 + libkres7

Hi,

libkres7/stretch-backports depends on unavailable libdnssec5, libknot7.
Trying to rebuild it fails with

In file included from /build/knot-resolver-2.3.0/lib/resolve.h:24:0,
 from /build/knot-resolver-2.3.0/lib/cache/impl.h:32,
 from lib/cache/entry_list.c:21:
/build/knot-resolver-2.3.0/lib/cookies/lru_cache.h:24:39: fatal error:

You should probably update the backport to the current version in buster.
