Package: newsbeuter Version: 2.9-8+b1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I recently observed that apt-get was notifying me that performing an 'apt-get autoremove' would de-install package 'newsboat' - which would be quite undesirable for me. What seems to have occurred is that package newsbeuter 'recommends' the actively-maintained package newsboat, and so when after transitioning to the newer package I removed the unmaintained package newsbeuter, apt flagged the package newsboat for auto-removal. Maybe change newsboat to a 'suggests'? Maybe just drop newsbeuter and turn it into a transitional package for newsboat? Maybe change newsboat to a 'suggests' along with an apt message that the upstream package is not being maintained, but has been forked to newsboat? -- System Information: Distributor ID: Devuan Description: Devuan GNU/Linux 2.0.0 (ascii) Release: 2.0.0 Codename: ascii Architecture: x86_64 Kernel: Linux 4.14.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) -- no debconf information -- hkp://keys.gnupg.net CA45 09B5 5351 7C11 A9D1 7286 0036 9E45 1595 8BC0
