The testing version of ublock-origin is pending approval by
control: severity -1 grave
The symptom of "uBlock Origin becomes deactivated" is severity "grave".
Bug is fixed with a newer package release, but that newer release did
not reach stable whereas Firefox ESR (thanks to its special treatment)
is expected to bump to major version 68 in stable at

I don't know yet. Since the official version works, it is probably not a
Firefox bug. It is likely related to a missing Firefox

I can confirm this behavior as well with Firefox 66.0-1

With Firefox ESR 60.6.0esr-1 it works okay.
With Firefox 65 it also worked.
Maybe the extension needs an update.
