Which git tree and branch do you take it from? If it is
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/iwlwifi/backport-iwlwifi.git
then
the package name is better called backport-iwlwifi-dkms or
iwlwifi-backport-dkms to make the package name clear in reflecting what it
does.

Thanks,
Anthony

Description : iwlwifi driver backport in DKMS format

Intel works with periodic releases of the iwlwifi driver that are
tested with a specific combination of components. They are called
LinuxCore releases and are numbered sequentially, e.g. LinuxCore11
is the latest stable release as of May 2015. For users using some
LTS distributions, stable kernel updates might not be enough to
cover new devices and requires manually compiling iwlwifi backport
driver to enable. It would be convenient for those users to have
already packaged iwlwifi backport dkms.

This dkms is currently included in Ubuntu oem installations when
necessary. I've also created, probably duplicate works from
others, a debian port hosted on
https://gitlab.com/vicamo/iwlwifi-dkms and will begin ITP later.
