package: inadyn

version: 1.99.4

Severity: important

Hi! I have installed inadyn 1.99.4 through the Raspbian Buster apt
packager. I realised that the inadyn package preconfigures a user
debian-inadyn:debian-inadyn that can be used for configuring a systemd
service. This is nicely described in the NEWS.Debian.gz file (also
changing the daemon setting to "On" in /etc/default/inadyn). However,
such a service will not work out of the box because of several reasons:

1) the package does not contain a inadyn.service file for using with
systemd.

2) an old init.d script is included and i am not sure whether this is of
any use in Debian Buster, when Debian uses systemd instead of init.d
since several years.

3) the package sets the proper ownership for the log files, but it
forgets to set the proper ownership for /run/inadyn directory. That is
why the service run under debian-inadyn:debian-inadyn will not have
access to access the pid-file. After setting directory ownership to
debian-inadyn:debian-inadyn for /run/inadyn the service starts and works
nicely with a standard service file for systemd.
