Bug#934602: simple-scan: Stretch to Buster: scanning no longer works

2021-11-27 Thread Jörg Frings-Fürst
Hello,

The correct detection of a USB device is part of the kernel or task of
a corresponding driver. Since scanning by simple-scan works, this is
not a bug in simple-scan. Therefore I close this bug.

Bug#934602: simple-scan: Stretch to Buster: scanning no longer works

2021-08-27 Thread Martin-Éric Racine
This is a Buster bug. We're up to Bullseye.

As I've already stated in the other bug that you incorrectly
re-assigned to the kernel, scanning works just fine, but only when
SANE doesn't insist on reporting my WiFi dongles as scanning devices.

Since upgrading to Buster, simple-scan fails silently.

Upon startup, simple-scan correctly identifies the connected USB scanner, but
selecting a text or picture to scan produces an empty page.
