Bug#934784: gnome-calendar: "All day" events are saved with the wrong date

2020-08-22 Thread tamica.49515...@mailbeaver.net
Dear Maintainer,

I have successfully reproduced this bug on the same version of the
package.

However, the bug does not occur in all situations. If an event is
created by only clicking a day in the calendar, entering a name for
the event and clicking the "add" button, the event is set to the
correct day.

However, if the "edit details" button is clicked before clicking the
"add" button, the bug occurs. The bug also occurs when editing an
existing event, as reported in steps 4 to 6 of the original bug
report.

Bug#934784: gnome-calendar: "All day" events are saved with the wrong date

2019-08-14 Thread Webmailadress1
Package: gnome-calendar
Version: 3.30.1-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I recently installed Debian Buster and the gnome-calendar application seems
to behave weirdly with events lasting for a whole day.
Each time I save an existing event with the "all day" box ticked, the event
is saved with a date one day earlier...!

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open gnome-calendar
2. Create a new event. Name the event and make sure the box "All day" is
checked. Save.
3. The event is displayed one day earlier than expected in the calendar.
4. Open the newly created event by clicking on it.
5. Do not modify anything, just hit the top right button 'Finish'.
6. Again, the event has moved one day earlier than expected.

I would expect that saving an existing event without modifying its date is
a no-op. I would also expect a new event to be saved with the correct date!
This is pretty annoying since almost all my events are "all day" events.

Editing such events directly from Evolution seems to work fine. I'd like to
add that I don't have my Debian connected with any online account
(Google, ...), and especially I didn't set up Evolution to access or send
emails.
