Additional information: * the Samba server is a Synology NAS which supports SMB1, SMB2 and SMB3. * by default it looks like smbclient is using SMB2, according to previous logs * when restricting Samba server to only use SMB1, rename is working correctly: smb: \> ls dos_clean_name [\*]

Package: libsmbclient Version: 2:4.9.5+dfsg-5+deb10u1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, Since upgrade to buster, I cannot rename files on mounted SMB remote filesystems. This happens on gui tools (nemo, nautilus, ...) and on smbclient as well. So I guess it's linked to libsmbclient. -- System
