Stéphane, I actually don’t block Googlemail, they’re just too utterly
stupid to successfully deliver to me (or anyone else using Greylisting
and not whitelisting their ranges). Same for a few other providers such
as Hotmail. Some spammers (Yahoo) I do block.

I can partially reproduce this on my installation. If you advance page by the 
space key then sometimes it does not work. However if you use pageup/pagedown 
or ./, key then it always work.

Can you confirm?

Downgrading to 1.15.0+ds1-1 fixes the issue.
