Package: rapid-photo-downloader

Version 0.9.19 is released, with some important bug fixes that
directly affect the usability of the program on high DPI screens, as
well as on recent versions of Qt.
In this release, changes have been made to the file setup.py. Of
interest to Debian will be:
The appstream metadata file is now called
net.damonlynch.rapid_photo_downloader.metainfo.xml , and is now
installed in share/metainfo.
The desktop file is now called net.damonlynch.rapid_photo_downloader.desktop.
A new feature is support for HEIF / HEIC files. This feature is
optional in that the program will run without it, but is something
users have been asking for. Supporting it requires installing new
build dependencies:
- libheif-dev
- libde265-dev
- libx265-dev
to be able to build the Python package pyheif (currently not packaged
in Debian):
- https://github.com/david-poirier-csn/pyheif
pyheif has runtime dependencies on the non-devel versions of those
three devel packages.
If enabling HEIF / HEIC support, the package python3-pillow is a
required dependency for Rapid Photo Downloader.
