Bug#961454: dahdi-dkms: Cannot compile using DKMS on kernel 5.4 backport and latter

2021-01-04 Thread Vincent Danjean
Package: dahdi-dkms
Version: 1:2.11.1.0.20170917~dfsg-7
Followup-For: Bug #961454

  Hi,

I needed to compile these drivers on the 5.9 kernel in buster-backports.
I used ubuntu patches and I added one more to handle the last compile
problem.
  Results can be seen here:
https://salsa.debian.org/pkg-voip-team/dahdi-linux/-/merge_requests/2

With a changelog entry (and the disabling of no_firmware_download
patch for my private build), I successfully built the kernel module
in buster.

  Regards
Vincent

Hello,

It looks like the same issue as
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=948983

If I don't make a mistake, the error is the same.

Maybe. Read

as "file not found"

Advice: Find out what should provide the missing file.

P.S.
My appology for adding noise.
I did now learn that I should have put it in a separate message.

So I should have reported it as a DKMS issue instead?

If it is better: http://paste.debian.net/1148681/

The code of ix.io should be free but is still not and yes, we don't know
the author. It is specified on the main page.

2020-05-24 Thread Patrick ZAJDA
Package: dahdi-dkms

Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

When installing kernel 5.4 or 5.5 from buster-backports or running
dpkg-reconfigure dahdi-dkms, there is an error inviting to consulte make.log.
This is the make.log I had after the error: http://ix.io/2n8n
It looks like there is an incompatibility with kernel 5.4 and 5.5 which
prevents the compilation of DAHDI kernel modules.

To me it looks a generic DKMS thing.

Hope this helps
