Bug#993210: mate-session-manager: mate-settings-daemon crashed

2021-09-15 Thread Bernhard Übelacker

Dear Maintainer, hello Mihai,
I tried to reconstruct the source line information of the top frames,
how they should look like if the packages
libgtk-3-0-dbgsym libglib2.0-0-dbgsym would have been installed.

Bug#993210: mate-session-manager: mate-settings-daemon crashed

2021-08-28 Thread Mihai Hanor
Package: mate-session-manager
Version: 1.24.1-2
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: quake2i...@gmail.com

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
Before the problem occurred, I did the following:
- enabled Alt+shift key for switching to another layout.
- disabled New windows use active window's layout
I used the system for awhile, browsing mostly.
A Caps Lock key stuck problem appeared. Trying to press CTRL+C/CTRL+V to
copy a selection of a text in a page, didn't worked. I realized that left
CTRL+C didn't work (same in a Terminal).

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
First I attempted to disconnect the keyboard by cycling through the USB
switch outputs. The key was still stuck after these attempts.
Then I accessed Keyboard Preferences - Layouts and performed Reset to
defaults, then opened Options to see if the options there have been
restored. At this point I think the window closed on its own.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
I think that the crash of the process made my Caps Lock issue go away.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
No Caps Lock stuck key, no crash.
