I have the same problem. Doing
sudo aptitude purge sun-java6-jre sun-java6-bin sun-java6-plugin
sun-java6-fonts java-common
and then installing 6-16-1 versions did NOT fix it.

There's a series of different licenses, all of which would need to be
recorded for true paperwork compliance (although only the standard zlib
license actually makes it into the binary package).
