Kicad is not installing default plugins that are included in original
source package, e.g. eeschema/plugins/xsl_scripts/bom2csv.xsl ->

installed the Gnome desktop and Audacity, and I installed the source
package for alsa-lib (1.1.7-1).
I then configure the build tools and applied the patch from the ALSA
project against the source and built the binary packages.
