FYI, I've been discussing this issue with upstream gnome-software
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-software/issues/589 and
packagekit https://github.com/hughsie/PackageKit/issues/314 .
I've not been able to capture a trace of packagekit crashing yet, so
any additional info would be

On an install of Debian Buster when I open gnome-control-center I am
unable to set gnome-calendar as a the default calendar even though it
is installed. (I can however set Evolution or Thunderbird as the

Is there going to be an ACK or NACK decision on this before the buster

As an outsider I understand the advantages of Wayland, but I am
concerned about the implications of Wayland as default at this point to
a "stable" release.
