Paraview is really not an easy source to package.
Now the debian-directory is rewritten almost completely to make the
packaging as simple as possible. I prefer to escape overpatching,
because it complicates a maintainance.

solution. But, for example, freecad is hanging in sid since March not
being able to

I requested removal of gmsh on kfreebsd* after enabling autotests.
There is also #617931, which does not allow migration to testing
(license issue).
Probably, it needs to be workarounded as done for freecad. But it
needs to be discussed before.
