Changingif [ "$SHLVL" = 1 ] in .bash_logout to if [ "$SHLVL" = 2 ]
solves my problem; now X doesn't crash and I can switch between my openbox
session (on tty1)
and other tty's (logged in or not) just fine.

I also suspect alsa stuff but not sure what exactly.
