with current dpkg I have a strage problem - during install of some
packages i.e. fakeroot or heirloom-mailx, update-alternatives
starts to write very large files in /var/lib/dpkg/alternatives,
only stopping after the disk is filled up.

during system shutdown, ups-monitor gets calles from /etc/init.de/halt, and
calls apccontrol killpower.
In apccontrol, most stuff gets piped to /usr/bin/wall, but at the time it is
called, /usr might already have been unmounted, which
journal entry ie on
Jul 16, and use a template from Jul 10, the journal entry appears not
at the current date, but on the date from the template.
Quite sure, that this is an upstream problem, but I currently have
no kde.org account.
