Bug#375688: Bug in iso-codes: iso3166-2.xml contains invalid entries
On Thursday 27 July 2006 09:18, Ulrich Mueller wrote: Hello Tobias, shouldn't the changes be reflected in iso_3166_2.tab, too? They seem to be in the XML file only. Hello, actually, the file iso_3166_2.tab is outdated and should no longer be used. I've therefore removed the file from the repository. Thanks for pointing this out. thanks for the patch and the additional hints about the ISO 3166-2 XML file. I've verified that the most part of the patch is indeed correct, except the code DE-BR for Brandenburg. All other corrections have been applied to the SVN repository and will appear in the next release. Hello Tobias, shouldn't the changes be reflected in iso_3166_2.tab, too? Bug#375688: Bug in iso-codes: iso3166-2.xml contains invalid entries
Hello, I came across bug #375688 because I had discovered the wrong entry DE-BR for Berlin in iso-codes. While I agree that DE-BR should be changed to DE-BE, I believe that the following hunk from the proposed patch is not correct: 1748c1748 code=DE-BBname=Brandenburg / --- code=DE-BRname=Brandenburg / Unfortunately, I don't have access to the standard ISO 3166-2. However, the following reference claims that the code for Brandenburg is DE-BB: http://www.ddb.de/eng/standardisierung/normdateien/lc2_04.htm Regards, Ulrich -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#375688: Bug in iso-codes: iso3166-2.xml contains invalid entries
Hello Andreas, I'm sorry for the late reply. We don't use the bug tracking system on Alioth for the iso-codes package, that's why your bug report got lost. I've filed it now on the Debian BTS, see http://bugs.debian.org/375688. i'm looking for a xml-file that contains iso3166-2 entries and found your project through google. it looked like a good starting-point for me. but on the other hand, i could easily find various invalid entries in your file, that make me unsure, whether the iso3166-2-part of your project is under active maintenance. can someone please give me some information about the status of 3166-2 part of your project? Well, we try to reflect the ISO 3166-2 standard as closely as possible, but naturally bugs remain. So if you have more information about bugs in our XML file, we would be glad to accept your changes.
