I got the same problem right now and was going to file a bug report. I think
that if it is distributed as an i386 package it should run on any i386
processor, unless there is a good reason not to. I agree with Torsten that if
it is too troublesome to keep both versions, priority should be given

different fasl formats: for x86 or for sse2.
I was going to fix the scripts to handle this correctly but then I
