 Hi again.

I booted into the latest linux-image-2.6.32-5-openvz-amd64 from squeeze,
and I still see this issue. This time it was triggered by trying to
view a Wordpress site hosted in one of the VE's. I don't know's with
 these PHP apps...

I tried to retitle my bug as I'm not so sure it's SHM related any more,
and evidently the problem isn't confined to the -bpo package from
Backports, either. I'd appreciate if a maintainer could make the
appropriate change for me. And possibly mark this as present in
 2.6.32-21 if necessary. Thanks.

Bug#596449: linux-image-2.6.32-bpo.5-openvz-amd64: kernel BUG/OOPS

2010-09-12 Thread Steven Chamberlain

retitle 596449 linux-image-2.6.32-bpo.5-openvz-amd64: kernel BUG/OOPS

I'm also suffering this slightly different-looking kernel BUG but I
think it's related to the same issue. Again this was triggered by a PHP
web application, but not phpmyadmin this time, and this was with APC
disabled (APC uses SHM heavily, and that was mentioned in the backtrace
of the last crash).

The crashed process remains unkillable except by reboot, and 'ps ax'
freezes, as well as other tools such as 'lsof'.

I'm going to test with 2.6.32-5-openvz-amd64 from unstable now, to
establish if this is purely related to the backported package, or if
it's potentially an issue for squeeze.

Bug#596449: linux-image-2.6.32-bpo.5-openvz-amd64: kernel BUG/OOPS

2010-09-12 Thread Steven Chamberlain

Version: 2.6.32-21

Thanks.

For the time being I'm reverting to 2.6.26-2-openvz-amd64 on this
machine (as it's sort of a production server). I've never had this
issue in that kernel version.
