Bug#710424: xfce4: Opacity when window is moved/resized settings don't get saved when PC turns off
Package: xfce4 Version: 4.10.1 Followup-For: Bug #710424 Turns out it wasn't the CLAMP macro, the culprit was the themerc file of the xfwm theme I was using (Zukitwo)... for some reason the theme could override the move_opacity and resize_opacity settings (along with other settings) when xfwm was loading. I really don't like themes overriding my own settings without telling. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.10-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_AR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_AR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages xfce4 depends on: ii gtk2-engines-xfce 3.0.1-2 ii libxfce4ui-utils 4.11.1-2 ii orage 4.10.0-1+b1 ii thunar 1.6.3-1 ii xfce4-appfinder4.10.1-1 ii xfce4-mixer4.10.0-3 ii xfce4-panel4.10.1-1 ii xfce4-session 4.10.1-5 ii xfce4-settings 4.10.1-2 ii xfconf 4.10.0-2 ii xfdesktop4 4.10.2-3 ii xfwm4 4.11.1-2 Versions of packages xfce4 recommends: ii desktop-base 7.0.3 ii tango-icon-theme 0.8.90-5 ii thunar-volman 0.8.0-4 ii xfce4-notifyd 0.2.4-2 ii xorg 1:7.7+6 Versions of packages xfce4 suggests: pn gtk3-engines-xfcenone pn xfce4-goodiesnone ii xfce4-power-manager 1.2.0-3 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#710424: xfce4: Opacity when window is moved/resized settings don't get saved when PC turns off
Package: xfce4 Version: 4.10.1 Followup-For: Bug #710424 I've checked and it seems Xfwm does read the opacity settings from Xfconf correctly but then they get changed to 100 right after reading those settings. It looks like the culprit is the CLAMP macro being used, but this macro doesn't seem to be from Xfwm. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.10-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_AR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_AR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages xfce4 depends on: ii gtk2-engines-xfce 3.0.1-2 ii libxfce4ui-utils 4.11.1-2 ii orage 4.10.0-1+b1 ii thunar 1.6.3-1 ii xfce4-appfinder4.10.1-1 ii xfce4-mixer4.10.0-3 ii xfce4-panel4.10.1-1 ii xfce4-session 4.10.1-5 ii xfce4-settings 4.10.1-2 ii xfconf 4.10.0-2 ii xfdesktop4 4.10.2-3 ii xfwm4 4.11.1-2 Versions of packages xfce4 recommends: ii desktop-base 7.0.3 ii tango-icon-theme 0.8.90-5 ii thunar-volman 0.8.0-4 ii xfce4-notifyd 0.2.4-2 ii xorg 1:7.7+6 Versions of packages xfce4 suggests: pn gtk3-engines-xfcenone pn xfce4-goodiesnone ii xfce4-power-manager 1.2.0-3 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#710424: xfce4: Opacity when window is moved/resized settings don't get saved when PC turns off
Package: xfce4 Version: 4.10.1 Followup-For: Bug #710424 It turns out that if I change the window shadow settings on Window Manager Tweaks the windows are no longer semi-transparent while being moved or resized, even if I don't log out or turn off the system. Also, the shadow settings don't seem to work: all windows have shadows, regardless of the settings. If I look at Xfconf the settings are still there, so it seems like xfwm can't seem to obey some of the compositor settings on Window Manager Tweaks -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.10-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_AR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_AR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages xfce4 depends on: ii gtk2-engines-xfce 3.0.1-2 ii libxfce4ui-utils 4.10.0-5 ii orage 4.8.4-2 ii thunar 1.6.3-1 ii xfce4-appfinder4.10.1-1 ii xfce4-mixer4.10.0-2 ii xfce4-panel4.10.1-1 ii xfce4-session 4.10.1-3 ii xfce4-settings 4.10.1-2 ii xfconf 4.10.0-2 ii xfdesktop4 4.10.2-3 ii xfwm4 4.10.1-2 Versions of packages xfce4 recommends: ii desktop-base 7.0.3 ii tango-icon-theme 0.8.90-5 ii thunar-volman 0.8.0-2 ii xfce4-notifyd 0.2.4-2 ii xorg 1:7.7+4 Versions of packages xfce4 suggests: pn gtk3-engines-xfcenone pn xfce4-goodiesnone ii xfce4-power-manager 1.2.0-2 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#710424: xfce4: Opacity when window is moved/resized settings don't get saved when PC turns off
Package: xfce4 Version: 4.10.1 Severity: normal After I boot up my PC, when I move or resize a window, it has 100% opacity, even when the corresponding settings at Window Manager Tweaks are at less than 100% opacity. If I change the settings in Window Manager Tweaks, the windows get transparent while they are moved or resized, but only until the PC turns off. When I turn the PC back on the windows have 100% opacity again while being moved/resized. This happened ever since I updated to 4.10. The Saving session automatically setting is turned on. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.8-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_AR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_AR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages xfce4 depends on: ii gtk2-engines-xfce 3.0.1-2 ii libxfce4ui-utils 4.10.0-2 ii orage 4.8.4-2 ii thunar 1.6.3-1 ii xfce4-appfinder4.10.1-1 ii xfce4-mixer4.10.0-2 ii xfce4-panel4.10.1-1 ii xfce4-session 4.10.1-1 ii xfce4-settings 4.10.1-1 ii xfconf 4.10.0-2 ii xfdesktop4 4.10.2-2 ii xfwm4 4.10.1-1 Versions of packages xfce4 recommends: ii desktop-base 7.0.3 ii tango-icon-theme 0.8.90-5 ii thunar-volman 0.8.0-2 ii xfce4-notifyd 0.2.4-2 ii xorg 1:7.7+3 Versions of packages xfce4 suggests: pn gtk3-engines-xfcenone pn xfce4-goodiesnone ii xfce4-power-manager 1.2.0-2 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
