Atm htop reports 12550/32225MB used. Yes, I see that numbers don't match exactly on your system. I forwarded your report upstream. -- Eugene V. Thanks for responding - here is the full output of free without me fiddling with it (I aligned the previous output): omega@omega1:~/.config/xfce4/panel$ free totalusedfree shared buff/cache available Mem: 32998636 9515852 466464 26363223016320 22807536 Swap: 10485756 010485756 free is '/usr/bin/free': 75d3b3dc779a953cae6e36fb0e2fdc8b /usr/bin/free The md5sum matches on the other x86_64 host at hand (so hopefully GCHQ haven't rooted me and replaced my binaries...). Bug#795776: [htop] Excessive memory usage reported compared to free, conky
Package: htop Version: 1.0.3-1 Severity: normal Initially I thought this a conky bug (reported at https://github.com/brndnmtthws/conky/issues/130) - according to conky, 9GB RAM is used (minus any buffers), however htop reports 11088MB used (presumably also minus buffers) - free reports the following: == total usedfree shared buff/cache available Mem: 32998636 9011192 1532280 273112 22455164 23306740 Swap: 10485756 0 10485756 == Which is close to conky's value (8800MB, still annoyingly different mind), presumably vindicating it. What is htop actually reporting here?
