If Debian is going to let this languish for a half decade, is there at least a
compiled deb or a workaround that we can install ourselves?
Seems a little odd to me that a standard like this would still not be
implemented in Debian.
There are any news about the packaging status?

2.00 Self Encrypting Drives (SED)
Hi Jan Luca,
Are you still pursuing this ITP? It's been almost three years, and
the deadline for buster has passed, so I've taken the liberty to unset
you as own
For sedutil to be useful the kernel will need to built
with CONFIG_BLK_SED_OPAL. This is requested by debbug 891213

Package: wnpp
Followup-For: Bug #825864

I'm wondering why the lack of action on this.. should this bug have
been sent to the sponsorship-requests instead, perhaps?
I was half-tempted to elevate the severity to important, b/c it is a
security issue
Gentlemen;
I was wondering if there is any progress toward packaging sedutil in Debian?
Much thanks.

Looks like this is a package which might come in handy to many people using SSDs
> I need a sponsor for the package to upload it to Debian.
I'll take care of this.
Cheers,
