Bug#836994: mate-panel: get wnck-applet underallocation notification all the time in journalctl

Bug#836994: mate-panel: get wnck-applet underallocation notification all the time in journalctl
Package: mate-panel Version: 1.14.2-1 Followup-For: Bug #836994 Hi, this is not just about the wnck-applet, others (like the clock-applet) produce the same error messages. I guess they're triggered when the applet is being repainted, for example because a cursor is moved within their region. Also changes on the panel itself (like starting a new applet) triggers those error messages. There was a launchpad bug report a few years ago, maybe this might help: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-appmenu/+bug/798455 -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.6.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages mate-panel depends on: ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.26.0-1 ii libatk1.0-0 2.21.90-2 ii libc62.23-5 ii libcairo-gobject21.14.6-1+b1 ii libcairo21.14.6-1+b1 ii libcanberra-gtk3-0 0.30-3 ii libcanberra0 0.30-3 ii libdbus-1-3 1.10.10-1 ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.108-1 ii libdconf10.26.0-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.34.0-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.49.6-1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.21.5-3 ii libice6 2:1.0.9-1+b1 ii libmate-desktop-2-17 1.14.1-1 ii libmate-menu21.14.0-1 ii libmate-panel-applet-4-1 1.14.2-1 ii libmateweather1 1.14.1-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.40.2-1 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.40.2-1 ii librsvg2-2 2.40.16-1 ii libsm6 2:1.2.2-1+b1 ii libstartup-notification0 0.12-4 ii libwnck-3-0 3.20.1-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.3-1 ii libxau6 1:1.0.8-1 ii libxrandr2 2:1.5.0-1 ii mate-desktop 1.14.1-1 ii mate-menus 1.14.0-1 ii mate-panel-common1.14.2-1 ii mate-polkit 1.14.0-1 ii menu-xdg 0.5 mate-panel recommends no packages. mate-panel suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
Bug#836994: mate-panel: get wnck-applet underallocation notification all the time in journalctl
Package: mate-panel Version: 1.14.2-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, Was running journalctl -f to see something else and came across the following - Sep 08 02:58:25 debian wnck-applet[4205]: gtk_widget_size_allocate(): attempt to underallocate WnckTasklist's child GtkToggleButton 0x55a558d23e40. Allocation is 235x24, but minimum required size is 56x28. However bigger I do the size allocation, it still is less. Hopefully something can be done to fix it. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (600, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'testing-debug'), (1, 'experimental-debug'), (1, 'experimental'), (1, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.6.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages mate-panel depends on: ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.26.0-1 ii libatk1.0-0 2.20.0-1 ii libc62.23-5 ii libcairo-gobject21.14.6-1+b1 ii libcairo21.14.6-1+b1 ii libcanberra-gtk3-0 0.30-3 ii libcanberra0 0.30-3 ii libdbus-1-3 1.10.10-1 ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.106-1 ii libdconf10.26.0-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.34.0-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.49.6-1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.21.5-3 ii libice6 2:1.0.9-1+b1 ii libmate-desktop-2-17 1.14.1-1 ii libmate-menu21.14.0-1 ii libmate-panel-applet-4-1 1.14.2-1 ii libmateweather1 1.14.1-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.40.2-1 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.40.2-1 ii librsvg2-2 2.40.16-1 ii libsm6 2:1.2.2-1+b1 ii libstartup-notification0 0.12-4 ii libwnck-3-0 3.20.1-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.3-1 ii libxau6 1:1.0.8-1 ii libxrandr2 2:1.5.0-1 ii mate-desktop 1.14.1-1 ii mate-menus 1.14.0-1 ii mate-panel-common1.14.2-1 ii mate-polkit 1.14.0-1 ii menu-xdg 0.5 mate-panel recommends no packages. mate-panel suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal शिरीष अग्रवाल My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com EB80 462B 08E1 A0DE A73A 2C2F 9F3D C7A4 E1C4 D2D8
