Bug#838320: Re[2]: Bug#838320: installation-reports: debian stretch (testing) installer freezes on the laptop with Intel Celeron N2840 CPU
Hello! I am so sorry for my long silent. It was my first bug-report and I didn't knew how to do it correctly. I tried to do things what you recommended me. And it didn't work, but when I tried to install new week's release, everything was OK. So I wanted to do my best, and I was looking for some way for getting log. It took a lot of time and every new week's release worked OK. I couldn't find any ways to getting log during installation. Finally it took so many time, that I was ashamed that I wasted your time. Sorry for this unofficial letter. --- Оригінальне повідомлення --- Від кого: "Cyril Brulebois" Дата: 24 червня 2017, 21:53:43 Control: tag -1 moreinfo - d-i Control: severity -1 normal Geert Stappers (2016-09-19): > Control: -1 moreinfo > Stop > > On Mon, Sep 19, 2016 at 11:03:26PM +0300, Oksana Andrusiv wrote: > > > > The installation of the base system hangs. > > The very last message in log console is "installed discover". > > The issue was reproduced in 100% of attempts with and without network > > mirror. > > > > The debian 8 is currently in use on the same laptop thus I suppose it is a > > new > > problem. > > Good that the new problem is being reported. > > Please boot with 'priority=low' to get more messages > and report back.. > > See https://www.debian.org/releases/stretch/arm64/ch05s03.html.en for > additional > information. Bug#838320: installation-reports: debian stretch (testing) installer freezes on the laptop with Intel Celeron N2840 CPU
Package: installation-reports Severity: critical Tags: d-i Justification: breaks the whole system Dear Maintainer, The installation of the base system hangs. The very last message in log console is "installed discover". The issue was reproduced in 100% of attempts with and without network mirror. Used hardware: Lenovo Ideapad 100 with Intel Celeron N2840 CPU and RAM 4Gb. Used image: netinstall for amd64 (weekly build from September 19, 2016). The system was successfuly installed from the same image as guest into Virtual Box. The debian 8 is currently in use on the same laptop thus I suppose it is a new problem. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.6 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.16.7-ckt11 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system)
