But we can add a query parameter, like "/pkg/foo?fallback=none" to implement this. For example by checking the > number of associated news before deciding that we want to consider a > binary lookup... I'm cloning my main point, which is slightly different, into a separate bug. It should not be too hard to implement a src: syntax that disables the "if no source package is found try to find a binary package with that name" fallback for special cases where an error page is better than this fallback. This could then be used from packages.qa.d.o, and later from the src: pages in the BTS. > Cheers, cu Adrian -- "Is there not promise of rain?" Ling Tan asked suddenly out of the darkness. Fine. Let's record this as a wishlist then. Patches welcome as usual. It might even be not too hard to implement. For example by checking the number of associated news before deciding that we want to consider a binary lookup... I use the PTS feature of looking up historical source packages quite a lot, so it would be a shame if it went away with the transition to the tracker. -- bye, pabs https://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise

The only "ancient" data that can be kept is the list of news. I'm not interested in showing old news of packages which are no longer in Debian at all. > But that is only secondary to the main part of the bug, where your > assumptions on what would be happening do not match what I reported > as actually happening. > > I was asking for accessing the src:nxproxy page in tracker.d.o, > and have that linked from packages.qa.d.o http://tracker.debian.org/pkg/ is the canonical URL for a given source package. If the source packages does not exist (as is the case here), we still have a nice fallback to redirect to the source package that contains a binary package of the same name. You could argue that returning an HTTP 404 would be better but I don't think so. > Or of that already exists, packages.qa.d.o should be fixed to use it. Bug#840062: tracker.debian.org and packages.qa.debian.org show different packages
Package: tracker.debian.org Severity: normal https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?src=nxproxy links to https://packages.qa.debian.org/n/nxproxy.html links to "tracker.debian.org/pkg/nxproxy", which is https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/nx-libs-lite How do I make tracker.debian.org show the src:nxproxy page? And the links from packages.qa.debian.org should be adjusted accordingly.
