Package: ifupdown Version: 0.8.16 Severity: minor Hello,
The example that interfaces(5) shows is very complex: it uses hotplug, a non-debian map-scheme script, map, etc. While it's interesting to show the amount of available advanced features, it'd be good to start with a much simpler example, such as a mere: auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp , and a mere: auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.1.2/24 gateway 192.168.1.1 which would cover a very large part of the actual usage, while not confusing the user right from the start with a complex setup.
