Do you prefer a NMU? I can also sponsor you this weekend. If you can sponsor me the upload is already ready in git (including s/UNRELEASED/unstable/ in changelog, done this afternoon). https://anonscm.debian.org/git/collab-maint/rst2pdf.git Let me know if you would rather have a package uploaded on mentors. (My usual sponsor is probably busy, so I was going to look for sponsorship elsewhere *right now*, just after reading email :) ) -- Elena ``of Valhalla''

I was contemplating adding a few other changes to the packaging (related to the hope of having a py3 version one day, but I've decided it's premature. -- Elena ``of Valhalla''
Bug#840801: python-pypdf is deprecated
Hi Elena, pypdf2 worked fine with other users of pypdf and should be fully compatible. See: bookletimposer: #763974 kraft: #763980 pdfposter: #763977 pdfshuffle: #763973 pisa: #763981 w3af: #763975 I really really would like to remove pypdf asap. I think is worthy to upload a new version for it :) Cheers, luciano

I've tried to build the package with python-pypdf2; unluckily rst2pdf doesn't have a proper test suite, but I've tried it with a few examples and there doesn't seem to be problems. python-pypdf2 upstream does say that the update should be transparent, so hopefully it will actually be :) The fix is currently in VCS; how urgent is this upload? -- Elena ``of Valhalla''
Bug#840801: python-pypdf is deprecated
Package: rst2pdf Severity: normal Please, consider depend on python-pypdf2 instead of python-pypdf. Upstream says: " I've stopped maintaining pyPdf, and a company named Phaseit has forked the project and continued development and maintenance with my blessing as pyPdf2 ( http://knowah.github.com/PyPDF2/)." -- http://pybrary.net/pyPdf/ Cheers, luciano (python-pypdf maintainer (for now))
