Lowering the severity:

The unstable buildds are using the first alternative of build
dependencies only, alternative build dependencies are a nop.

They might be used for backports, and if stretch (or jessie) would not
contain libwebkit2gtk-4.0-dev the alternative build dependency would
actually be the correct solution for backports.

libwebkit2gtk-4.0-dev is present in stretch (and jessie) so there is
likely no reason for keeping it, but this is cruft and not an RC issue.

Hi,

ring has an optional Build-Depends on libwebkit2gtk-3.0-dev, which is
deprecated in favor of
libwebkit2gtk-4.0-dev (provided in Debian by webkit2gtk). Please drop
the alternate Build-Depends so that we can remove the old,
unmaintained one.

Please try to do soon as we're going to try to remove the old webkitgtk soon.

I am filing this bug as "serious" since the old webkitgtk will not be
available in the next major stable release of Debian (codenamed
"buster").

If you have any question don't hesitate to ask.
