Ah, I see... I didn't know that newer versions of the package required a new library... BTW, taking a look at the repository for the library, it has bindings for a lot of languages and, perhaps, they should be built as needed, since, otherwise, they may be bloating the archive and never be used (depending if clients in the archive use this library)... > I can send an ITP and try to do the Debian package if that helps. That would be awesome, if you could do that, because the lack of SSE2 optimization (if I understood things correctly with the current binaries) is a pain with amd64 systems (especially on my Core 2 Duo notebook that is already being loaded with some image processing tasks and trying to help the kernel team with support for the recent oversized armel kernels).
