I have pushed a fix to autopkgtest to detect failed tests and exit with
status 1 should failures occur. Now this autopkgtest should properly fail.

Not right now. I have submitted this bug as a reminder also for myself
to look at it later.

Thanks for spotting this which is not obvious since the test goes as
"PASS".  Do you have any suggestion how to fix this?

Hello,

There is a failing test in hmmer's autopkgtest [1]:

    exercise  292 [   hmmpgmd_ga] ... FAILED [crash!]

The same test suite is executed during build, but does not fail. Thus I
presume the failure might be caused by a script trying to write
somewhere in the build tree.
