Bug#930683: unblock: geophar/18.08.2+dfsg1-2

2019-06-18 Thread Georges Khaznadar
Sam, thank you for the hint.

I enhanced the severity level (now: grave), because geophar has become
just unusable by people who do not understand how to fix the bug (even
if it is an easy fix).

Best regards, Georges.

The release team has told other people in the past that they value
having the bug metadata like severity accurate.
So if you think the severity is too low yes raising it is appreciated.

I am not part of the release team, I've just been watching a bunch of
their responses to others.

Please unblock package geophar

due to changes in matplotlib, an deprecated class used in
the previous release of Geophar is no longer supported.

This class was imported needlessly in a Python source file,
and I realized two days ago that the package Geophar was
*not usable*, it crashes with an explicit error message pointing
the class FigureCanvasQTAggBase.

I filed Bug #930672, which is closed by the new release.

Please, should I enhance the bug severity while sending this
unblock request?

Thank you in advance.
