I just hit this bug yesterday evening. To solve it temporarily,
downgrade libmhash2 to version 0.9.1-1:
$ wget
ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/m/mhash/libmhash2_0.9.1-1_i386.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i --force-downgrade
