This is not very useful, please rebuild both wxGTK 2.8 and poedit with
debug information enabled and try running poedit under gdb; when it
crashes, type "bt" and attach its output.

You were right. audacity starts fine under KDE and GNOME/Openbox.
I used gnome-appearance-properties to change the themes. Only a limited
