OK the first build failure is caused by admin/cvs.sh hardcoding
the supported automake versions while the package uses the unversioned
automake as dependency. Both, hacking the cvs.sh to accept
automake1.11 and replacing automake with automake1.10 in depends works

I upgraded to cups-1.3.11-2 recently and since then the service boot
process is stopped because it asks for root password of my remote CUPS
