I also hit this bug, this time with gst-plugins-bad0.10 version
0.10.18-2. My gconf output was the same as Andres'. I found that got
the same error text when I run 'gstreamer-properties', but
gst-properties continues to load, and I am able to generate a test tone.
I then ran pidgin under gdb, it
fixed 547947 2.2.13-15

This bug was caused by the split of libpurple from pidgin. The
maintainer intended pidgin-dev to depend on libpurple-dev but it was

A temporary dependency on libsensors-dev has been added until the issue
with libsnmp-dev can be resolved. The svn version of the package now
builds cleanly in a pbuilder.

Ok, after looking into it further, the error message there was based
on autoconf stuff. It seems the package maintainer tried to upgrade to
the build-dep in the control file and did nothing with the automake
stuff to upgrade. Easiest solution is to rev

The reported error above is based on the autoconf file configure.in
not being updated with the change to libgtkmm-2.4, however when
updating this to 2.4, it breaks with GCC errors.
