I have the same issue, and python3-zmq on my system is 24.0.1-1.
After new upgrades and removing ~/.xsession, session starts and I have
window decorations.
There are other issues (I cannot put pidgin or kwallet in tray. I lost
my hotkeys and cannot add new ones). I think it's due to migration in
progress (4.12-4.14). KDE in stretch is broken. But that's

I tried to install unstable version, with no change.

installing qml-module-org-kde-kwindowsystem (5.12.0-2) has no effect.
xsession-errors contains lots of errors, and messages that experts may
